Description
CARDBOARD VILLAGE "SEA CHANGE" (U.S.VOID RECORDS) 500 press black and or blue vinyl w insert. This record is something truly special. I do feel this is a quite a bit above most typical folk offerings. The band centers around three members: acoustic guitarist, vocalist and chief song writer Dave Clark, flutist and vocalist Christine Poole and vocalist/conga player PaulGross. They are aided by a pianist and bass player on several tracks, along with input from a few others here and there. Though Clark's guitar is certainly noteworthy, for me, what truly sets this collection apart from the rest is Poole's flute, often reverbed and sometimes doubled and even duet-ed with herself. Fine male/female vocal harmonies and gentle yet quality material combine to yield some exceptional tracks. The congas along with cello on one cut, piano on some others, electric guitar on still another also contribute to the progressive flavor found on those respective tracks. m/m w insert...just a few copies of origial 500 press remain Track listing A1 Too Many Footprints in the Sand A2 Sea Change A3 Just Like a Child A4 The Old Men Admiring Themselves in the Water A5 Back Home (Where It's the People, Not the Land) B1 The Charcoal Burner B2 Amy's Sweet Jam B3 Late Afternoon B4 Go Back Blues B5 Blue Skies Are Free B6 Three-Dollar Hat B7 Prance
