Description
Up for auction/sale is a highly collectible early 1970s UK pressing of Caravan’s progressive rock masterpiece, In The Land Of Grey And Pink, released on the iconic red/white Deram label.
This specific copy features the desirable Gatefold Sleeve and carries the -1D matrix stamp in the dead wax, indicating it was cut from the first master lacquer sequence by legendary Decca mastering engineer Ted Burkett. It delivers the exact same legendary audio fidelity as the rare April 1971 first pressings.
Condition Grading:
- Vinyl (Visual Grade): Strong VG+ to NM (Very Good Plus / Near Mint)
- The vinyl is in beautiful condition, retaining its brilliant, deep original factory gloss. Under direct light, there are no deep scratches, heavy scuffs, or feelable marks. Only a few faint, microscopic paper-sleeve hairlines/dust traces are present. The center labels are exceptionally clean, with sharp colors and no notable spindle wear or tearing. An excellent collector-grade disc.
- The original gatefold jacket is in great shape, as seen in the photos. It has crisp internal imagery, strong structural integrity, and no major splits, heavy stains, or writing. Shows only minor, expected vintage shelf wear on the edges and corners.
- Inner Sleeve: Includes the original vintage Decca blue-text handling/care inner sleeve in fully intact condition.
Tracklist:
Side 1:
- Golf Girl
- Winter Wine
- Love to Love You (And Tonight Pigs Will Fly)
- In the Land of Grey and Pink
