CARAVAN 10” 2 sided Acetate “All The Way” Prog Camel Genesis Soft Machine Rare
CARAVAN ~ All The Way RCA 10” Acetate. The full title of the single eventually released in 1976 was All The Way (With John Wayne’s single handed liberation of Paris).
This 2 sided acetate disc is clearly labelled on both sides. 1 side has an Eq’d cut of the single whilst the other has a “Flat” version, presumably referring to the process the engineers went through of fine tuning the track during production.
Although the disc is 10” in diameter the track is cut as if it were a normal 7” single, i.e. it occupies the centre part of the disc. The outer sector is uncut on both sides.
Due it being an acetate I have chosen not to play it back to assess the contents in case of damage to the disc. That said, the playing area looks in nice condition and would probably not deteriorate significantly after 1 or 2 careful plays. I will leave it up to any winning bidder to decide if he / she wishes to play the disc.
I would grade the acetate overall as being in EX- condition, I grade mainly based on the apparent condition of the playing surface, rather than the blank outer sector which does have some slight marks on it but are relatively less important in the case of this particular disc.
The disc weighs in at 148g
This is an extremely rare item, almost certainly one of a kind. A unique opportunity to own a piece of Caravan & related Canterbury genre music history.

All records are placed in a separate poly lined inner and stored flat outside the sleeve and then placed sealed in a re-sealable polythene outer prior to shipping. Records are then placed between square cardboard sheets before packaging into cruciform mailers especially designed for LP’s
