Description
RARE private 45 rpm psych rock/soul: CAPTAIN JACK - Connie b/w Crystal Cave - both labels say "maniac" in small text. Credits: Connie (Craig Brandt) - Crystal Cave (Dan Brown); Engineered by J. Collett. No date, guessing early 1980's but not sure. You can HEAR IT on youtube channel "HamRandy" - in the video of the B-side the track cuts off at the end, but that was caused by my turntable - it doesn't happen on our upstairs player. The only other copy of this I can come up with online is listed for $250 or so. 'Connie' sounds like a tribute to an actual friend of the band, and it's pretty good, but the B-side has a pretty awesome psych blow-out at about a third of the way in, and starts sounding pretty damn great.
Condition is VG (vinyl is visually VG with some minor-to-moderate scuffing and minor surface marks, and you can see where the coolest part has been played a lot; it plays with some noise during the quieter opening portion of the B-side, and the best 2/3 of the song sounds great; A-side sounds EX).
(Vintage Vinyl, Records, 45 rpm, Single, Music, Soul, Psych, Rock, 1970's, 1980's, Memorabilia, Collectible).
PLEASE READ BEFORE BIDDING: All items are very well-packed for shipment and always include tracking numbers. Non-media items have the shipping cost noted in the auction, but we offer FREE SHIPPING TO U.S. CUSTOMERS ON ALL MEDIA ITEMS (AND SOMETIMES NON-MEDIA ITEMS) - that means that the item price includes your shipping costs - this free shipping applies to books & magazines (price includes $3-$5 media mail shipping), postcards, photos, booklets & pamphlets (price includes $1.50-$3, 1st class or media mail shipping), record albums (7"s/45s include $3.00 1st class shipping; 10" and LPs include $3-$5 media mail shipping), cassettes, reel tapes, and CDs (includes $2 to $4, 1st class or mm).
REGARDING IMAGE QUALITY: Some of our older listings have images of poor quality; a few months ago Ebay changed their image size policies, and I was forced to automatically enlarge the images for all of last years' remaining items, which caused them to be grainy and blurry.
INTERNATIONAL BIDDERS - WE SHIP WORLDWIDE - please contact me prior to bidding so I can determine Airmail shipping rates for you.
WE NEVER USE STOCK PHOTOS - all images are of actual items. WE ALMOST ALWAYS USE MULTIPLE IMAGES. We grade all items conservatively, and when grading record albums we follow the Goldmine Record Guide. Please see our other Ebay auctions for many used, odd, rare and collectible books and records, paper & ephemera, and more. Thank you!
