I've NEVER seen anything like this before.  Capitol was very active in their promotions department but this is unique.  It was released in the early 60s to promote their newly-established Star Line series of albums and there are thirty LPs pictured on the back.

Let's start with the two LPs.  There are 46 tracks, but they aren't full tracks.  Each one is less than two minutes in length and they aren't just faded out short versions, they're each shortened by editing out some of the middle verses.  For example, Dean Martin's "Memories Are Made Of This" is 1:12, the Kingston Trio's "Tom Dooley" is 1:48, and Les Paul/Mary Ford's "Bye Bye Blues" is 1:04.  Some Capitol sound engineer spent lots of time editing all of these tracks down.

Now for the really cool part.  Tucked away inside the gatefold is a Compact 33 with the artists' introductions to some of the tracks on the LPs.  There are 11 different intros, all lasting less than 30 seconds and they were all recorded specifically for this package.  The DJ was supposed to play the short intro from this Compact while having the song queued up on his other turntable.

The cover has standard radio station wear with some writing and worn seams.  The compact is very nice and it even has its Capitol Compact 33 sleeve.  I've added a soundclip with the intro and track by Andy Griffith just so you can get an idea.  The tracks below that are bold/red are the ones that have introductions on the compact.
