CANNONBALL ADDERLEY QUINTET : "Mercy, Mercy, Mercy" LP
Capitol ST 2663 Stereo
Original US pressing from 1967, with the classic Capitol rainbow rim labels.
This is the Los Angeles pressing, as indicated by the number "6" at the bottom right side of the jacket back.
Matrix numbers hand etched in the dead wax read:
Side 1: ST-1-2663-A-3 1
Side 2: ST-2-2663-A-3 1
Recorded live in Chicago at "The Club" (formerly the Club De Lisa).
Cannonball plays his signature alto sax throughtout and is joined by his brother Nat on cornet and Joe Zawinul on electric piano.
Superb sound quality of this brilliantly recorded live album. Wonderful dynamic range throughout. Wax is NM-. Some light hairlines / scratches visible under bright light but have little or no impact on sound quality. Plays just a bit shy of "like new", with only minor surface noise audible during a very few passages.
Super high gloss remains.
Labels are clean and bright, look "like new".
NM- jacket, flawed only by traces of rub wear and a name (R E Perry) neatly written in the upper right corner of the jacket back. (This LP was one of about 500 in a wonderful collection I bought from my friend Bob Perry about four decades ago.)
Front jacket color photo and text are rich and clear.
Back jacket B&W photos and text are sharp and bright.
Seams and spine are solid and clean, nearly flawless. No splits.
Spine print is crystal clear.

Here find a superb copy of Cannonball Adderley's iconic "Mercy, Mercy, Mercy" live album as an original 1967 US pressing. You will be very "hard pressed" to find another unsealed copy in similar much less finer condition. Hoping this collectible gem goes to a good home.
