Description

Up for Auction is this original CANNONBALL ADDERLEY "SOMETHING ELSE" Lp BLUE NOTE Records # 1593 MONO, RVG, 9m and Ear in the run out wax.
The record is in VG condition
Cover is in VG+ condition. Just has average couple of dings on corners/seems. It does have a bow to it. All fully visible in pics

The records has lots of VERY light scratches and scuffs. There is a lack of deep scratches and only 4 or 5 -1/8" to 1/4" nick like scratches that are just barely able to be felt. So they do not produce too powerful of ticks like a deep scratch would. Last photo shows the worst scratch on the beginning of the second side... only a 1/4 inch of that scratch is feelable as it fades in to the music. It does produce a slight tick but the music come in rather powerful.
It sounds surprisingly better than it looks -Excellent fidelity- maybe because of deep grooves? Record plays with some crackle but it does not overwhelm the music. Besides the crackle the music has very nice presence and is not muddled or anything.
I'm sure it could benefit from being cleaned on a VPI which it hasn't been.
-Other scratches...
1/8" light feel-able scratch at the begining of second song -light tick for 9 rotations or so -second track sounds very good after that and crackle dies out..
1/8" at end of second song second track that doesn't sound strong until music dies and a voice pipes up "Is that what you wanted Albert?"
3rd track on that side has some little ticks crackle as it starts as there a few tiny 1/16" marks in a group but light and just sounds like louder crackle... Ends nice.

Overall this album plays and sounds very nice just like an older record but it doesn't look too stellar with all the super light scratches but has surprisingly few deeper little scratches.
I've tried to be as thorough as I can be and may have missed some other small things that would not justify a return as it played through rather nicely.

International Bidders -Postage prices have been increasing. It costs $20 to most places in Europe from here and some places in South America. Maybe $12 or so to Canada.. These are not final prices but approximate and final will be figured upon purchase. You can contact me before for a quote.
