Description

 Camilla Wicks Thomas GRS 3481, Collector's Issue. Camilla Wicks Thomas in recital with Horace Martinez. Unedited live performance, November 4, 1973. Beethoven: Violin Sonata in C minor, op 30 #2 / R. Strauss: Violin Sonata / Sarasate: Spanish Dances, Book 1, #1 and 2 / Wieniawski: Scherzo-Tarantelle / Scarlatescu: Bagatelle / Nin: Granadina / Paradis: Sicilienne. Stereo, 1973. 2 LPs, gatefold cover. 3-sided release, with the fourth side blank. Generic white cover with no notes, just a 6" x 10" gold label on the cover with the program printed on it. The only other information is: "Proceeds of this issue will be used by the Physical Therapy Departments of the Deaconess Hospital in Wenatchee and the Lake Chelan Community Hospital. Not for Commercial Sale or Reproduction. All right reserved." This is the same Camilla Wicks who performed the Sibelius Violin Concerto on a rare, highly sought-after Capitol release. This recital, recorded some 20 years later, is undoubtedly rarer still.

CONDITION: The vinyl show excellent sheen with clean labels. I don't think the records have been played very often as they fit very tightly on the spindle - they also track very well. There are no deep marks, nothing that can be felt. I can see a couple of light superficial paper scuffs, only visible with scrutiny.   I am conservatively visually grading EX but it is at least this good if not better - perhaps NM or Mint minus. The jacket is free from splits, has some light surface wear.  There is a little bit of discoloration on the back sleeve edge (see pics). This is a very nice example of this nearly impossible to find record. Don't miss out.
