Incredibly rare Acid folk/Psyche folk/Xian folk album.

Complete with pink lyric/picture insert.

Probably the greatest Xian-folk LP ever recorded.

Very hard to find, it is one of only 250 pressed on the private Koala Records label. This copy comes complete with pink lyric/picture insert.

Group members include Maggie Delves on vocals, Pete Ryder on guitar and vocals, Paul Stockdale guitar and vocals, Sian Harry keyboards and Barry Walton on Bass and vocals.

Pete Ryder was previously involved in the equally rare folk album by Paradise Square.

The record was recorded at Fairview Music Studio on 20th March 1976.

The record archivist Ken Scott describes the record as...

"Beautiful delicate British progressive folk custom featuring lovely female lead singing alternating with fragile male vocals that are imperfect yet charming. This is an exceptional record, on equal footing with classics like Presence and Caedmon. Several songs combine acoustic guitar and piano for soft melancholy moods, including ‘Just A Beginner’, ‘Better Day’, the title track, and ‘Hill Climbing For Beginners’, the latter a cover of the Water Into Wine Band song. Other selections like ‘A Song For Judas’, ‘Longer And Longer’, ‘Sand In My Shoes’ and ‘Winter Lady’ build a brisk folky sound, skillfully mixing rhythm and lead acoustic guitar. Gorgeous ethereal female vocals on ‘September Night Song’ and ‘Summer’s End’. A super rarity, too - don’t be surprised to see a four-digit price tag! The group’s name is derived from The Chronicles Of Narnia, as is the attractive b&w pen-and-ink cover artwork. Pete Ryder and Sian Harry are members of the group."

Vinyl - EX+ /NR MINT

One small hairline when held up close to the light, maybe from manufacture, in no way affects play. The record looks unplayed, clean and superbly shiny.

Plays near mint as expected, with a lovely pure,clear sound.

Centre label - EX+/NR MINT

The centre label is completely clean and has no spindle marks or fading.

The marks it does show come from manufacture, applying the label transfer by hand, as is expected on a private press label.

Pink lyric insert - EX+/NR MINT

As new. Completely clean with no creases

White inner sleeve - EX+

A couple of light creases from storage. Very minor.

Cover - Ex/Ex+

On the front there is slight ringwear from storage and a light mark of about 1 cm towards the bottom right corner. On the back there are a couple of light marks of about 0.5 cm and again a little ringwear. All fairly unnoticeable and acceptable given the record's age. The spines are great and have no splitting.The corners show slight wear.

This is a fantastic copy of a very rare LP.
