Description

Greetings! It is June 21st 2006. This is the 39th anniversary of our first recording contract and 40th anniversary of the year we became the C.A. Quintet©

I would like to dedicate this event to the memory of the late Tom Pohling. He was a good friend, a good person, and by far the greatest guitar player I ever had the pleasure of playing with. This album simply could not have been made without him. He was the one and only guitar player that ever recorded with the C.A. Quintet. We were very fortunate.

Listed here is an

ORIGINAL SEALED Trip Thru Hell© album.

It is the best one of three sealed copies in existence.

IT IS THE BEST and ONLY COMPLETELY SEALED COPY of this ALBUM IN EXISTENCE

I have three sealed albums left. However, the seals on two of the three have begun to open slightly. They are still sealed enough where one could still call them sealed. I wanted to sell one of those instead of this one. I really struggled with this decision. But, I have been promising for 3 months to sell a sealed album and I try to be a man of my word. So here you are. This is it. This copy is and always will be the best copy of this LP that exists in the world (if the buyer keeps it that way). This copy is completely sealed.

There is NO RESERVE on this listing.

At the end of this auction this record will belong to someone other than me. It is my way of saying thank you from the people that made this album to all of you that have kept the music alive for 40 years.

Here is some background.

I stashed 25 albums away many years ago when we first issued the record. I had no idea that anyone would want one of them 40 years later. As I moved from place to place, I carried this box of records with me. I knew enough to store them vertical and at room temperature. But, I was not concerned at all with things like “sealsâ€.

My intention always was to give them to my children if I ever had any. (And I did.. plenty of them) I have held steady on that promise and I have one record tucked away for each of my children as well as a couple set aside for grandchildren (I only have one grandchild at this point). Before now, I have never sold an album. But, I have given some away as gifts over the years.

Before I sign off.. I want to note that we still have a couple of hours of recorded material from the last night we played together in 1971. We are hoping to release some of this material this Fall. Also, I will continue to sell odds and ends from time to time on eBay and donate the proceeds to non-profits.

I intend to donate the proceeds from this entire project to a non-profit organization. You must have a positive rating of 10 or better to bid on this. If you are the winning bidder and wish for me to personalize and/or authenticate it, I will.

SHIPPING...WILL BE INCLUDED AS PART OF THE FINAL PRICE

I WOULD PREFER TO MEET THE WINNING BIDDER IF AT ALL POSSIBLE AND HAND THE ALBUM TO THEM IN PERSON. OTHERWISE THIS WILL BE SENT THE SAFEST METHOD POSSIBLE

If you would like more information or wish to communicate with the remaining members of the band, you can also go to our web-site caquintet.com

Again, I want to thank all of you that have kept the music alive for all these years! Ken Erwin and the C.A. Quintet

I HAVE TO STOP ANSWERING THESE QUESTIONS IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT... TOO MANY TYPOS

Correction to answer to Geoffrey's question: I have been getting a lot of e-mails. I try to answer them all quickly….. Too quickly. …. Sometimes I answer them when I should be sleeping. If I mistype or screw up the answer and attach it to the listing here, there is no way to go back correct it on the eBay listing other than this method. I promise no more answering questions when I should be sleeping. Q: will you be selling any of the partially sealed ones in the near future? I love the music, and want a perfect, unplayed vinyl original but don't care about the original seal. thanks, Geoffrey Weiss Jun-25-06 A: Well, I will NOT be selling any of my remaining copies in the foreseeable future, so I think you would have better luck finding one perhaps on eBay....good luck Ken

I thought that this was such a good question that I am adding it to the description just in the event that some of the bidders may have missed it.

Q: Where in the Midwest are you located. If I were the winning bidder I would prefer to pick the item up. Also, this may be one of the best LP's ever offered on eBay. Jun-30-06

A: Well, thank you from all of us for your kind words. We have about 24 hours left before the end of the auction. If the winning bidder wants to fly here to pick up the album, I would meet them in Minneapolis Minnesota. I probably could persuade some of the other band members to come along with me as well ... If I buy lunch....which I will.... Otherwise, I would be willing to fly at my own expense to any major city in the U.S. and hand over the album to make things a little fairer if the winning bidder is from outside the U.S. For example, if someone from Europe wants to fly to NYC... I would meet them there to give them the album......

One more thing. I never was a good keyboard player. But, notice how good my typing is in the mourning....a Colorado Mourning.... Good luck to all of you ... Ken Erwin
