SPIRAL SCRATCH FIRST PRESSING

Unique chance to own this copy of the industry changing, ‘Spiral Scratch’, the first indie produced single, released on Manchester’s New Hormones label.

The actual record has never been played and consequently there is no stylus wear whatsoever. This alone makes a most collectible and historic single really quite rare.

The cover shows some discolouring, creasing and a couple of very small tears on the top edge of the sleeve, but it’s complete and original.

Producer and friend Martin (Zero)Hannett gave me this record just before being released in 1977 - within a year he had suggested to Howard Devoto that I should be the new keyboard player for Magazine.
