Description

The immortal Buffalo Springfield released this album (Atco 33-200) in the fall of 1966. A month later Stephen Stills wrote a tune called "For What It's Worth," the band recorded it as a single and it was a hit. Atco re-released the album with "For What It's Worth" on Side 1, track 1 — moving "Leave" to Side 2, track 4 and removing "Baby Don't Scold Me."

This is a very good copy of the original record — in nice shape for a 43-year-old piece of vinyl. Not near-mint by any means, but eminently playable, as you can hear in this actual recording and this one.

The cover has quite a bit of wear, as the photos show. Most notable problems are the "2.00" written in the "B" for Buffalo on the front, and a 1/8" hole that was poked through the cover toward the lower lefthand. A cutout punch? Probably not — it looks more like a narrow sharp object that did not go quite all the way through (See photo #5, where the defect can be seen next to the credits for "Out of My Mind").

This is a rare and valuable record, and I'm probably overstating the flaws in this copy. But because it lists so high, I'd rather the winning bidder is pleasantly surprised by the good condition of this LP, not rudely surprised that it's not like-new.
