Description

Here is a unique item for serious collectors of Buddy Rich memorabilia!
The item for sale is a vinyl LP reissue of Buddy Rich's album 'Buddy and Soul'. This is the PAUSA records imprint which was issued in the early 1980s. It is the single 12" sleeve as distinct from the gatefold version that came with the original USA pressing on World Pacific.
The sleeve and the vinyl are in excellent condition but that's not really all that important. This record was purchased at a Buddy Rich concert at Warwick University Arts Centre during the band's 1984 UK tour. The reverse of the sleeve has three autographs: Buddy Rich himself, longtime featured sax soloist Steve Marcus and Australian trombonist/composer/arranger Dave Panichi. Dave has of course been immortalised in music history as Buddy's nemesis on the legendary 'bus tape'.
Now the charity bit: I owe my career in music to my late father. He introduced me to many great artists at a very early age and Buddy Rich was one of his all time favourites. When my Dad passed away aged just 69 he had been in the care of St Giles' Hospice. Their dedication, not just to him but to his immediate family helped him to cope with his illness with dignity and comfort, so a significant percentage of the proceeds of this sale will benefit them.
Happy to ship worldwide. Overseas bidders please email for quote.
