Immerse yourself in the profound beauty of Ludwig van Beethoven's Late Quartets, performed by the legendary Budapest String Quartet. This is Volume III of "The Complete String Quartets of Ludwig Van Beethoven," a monumental collection released on Columbia Masterworks. This specific volume, catalog number SL-174, focuses on Beethoven's challenging and deeply moving late period string quartets, a cornerstone of classical chamber music repertoire.

This LP set features a selection of Beethoven's most celebrated works in the genre: Quartet No. 12 in E-Flat Major, Op. 127; Quartet No. 13 in B-Flat Major, Op. 130, including the Grosse Fuge in B-Flat Major, Op. 133; Quartet No. 14 in C-Sharp Minor, Op. 131; and Quartet No. 15 in A Minor, Op. 132. The recordings were made in the esteemed Elizabeth Sprague Coolidge Auditorium of The Library of Congress, utilizing Stradivari instruments from the collection of the Gertrude Clarke Whittall Foundation, adding a layer of historical significance and sonic authenticity.
