Description

Amazing Bud Powell, Blue Note 1504, Vol. 2, 1955
On the dead wax: RVG inscribed with "9M", ear; Labels: Deep groove, no "R", "767 Lexington Ave"--both sides are the same. On the front cover: No logo superimposed on catalogue number. On back cover: Norman Granz credit.
Vinyl: Very Good... Side A: There is a series of three clicks on the first track and many of the tracks have some surface noise, but almost all of it is at a very low volume. Quite a few ticks, but again, on the whole of low volume. Far from ideal, but highly listenable. Side B: The worst spot on the album is a series of seven or eight medium-volume clicks starting off track 1, which also has some surface noise. After that things are much improved: only some barely audible surface noise on track 3. The last three tracks actually approach NM- status with no appreciable problems. In addition, the original sound quality is wholly intact and quite excellent.
Covers: Very Good... There is some transparent tape along the edges, as well as some clear-tape residue along the top edge. A bit of soiling on the back cover. On the plus side, the jacket is intact and quite clean, the cover graphic clear and glossy and there is no ring-wear at all.
Packaging includes new audiophile inner sleeve, new outer sleeve, cardboard padding, bubble-wrap and a thick cardboard record box.
