ARTIST "Mississippi" Joe Calicott
SIDE A FARE THEE WELL BLUES
SIDE B TRAVELING MAMA BLUES
INFO A Delta blues masterpiece as one of only 7 or so copies to survive - THIS is an amazing record with fine finger style guitar. Calicott played second guitar on Garfield Akers "Cottonfield" and these are his only two pre-war sides under his own name. His tombstone reads " An original Medicine Show Songster who played throughout the vast Delta from 1918 until his death" Recorded in Memphis Feb 1930 needless to say, the FIST time a copy is appearing on ebay - this is a record that if you are lucky enough to get a hold of you will NOT let go - from the collection of my pal George Paulus which will be sold this coming year by myself and Russ Shor
CONDITION A E- - see below
CONDITION B E- -
OTHER there is some mild heat of pressure marks that create a light swish on the first 30 seconds of both sides- some light scratches but overall a pretty nice copy
