Description
Very regrettably having to sell some of my Springsteen record collection due to unforeseen circumstances . Add me as a seller as there will be more coming over the next few weeks for now see my other Springsteen items for sale. If you buy more than one I will combine postage costs.
I have this owned for nearly 40 years and never played it.
A rarity for the serious collector only, the missing Hungry Heart version
In October 1980 some records were sold in the Die-cut sleeve instead of the picture sleeve. Some of them were labelled CBS 9309 not S CBS 9309 like the picture sleeve version and a few of these had labels that did not match
HUNGRY HEART label - has BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN on one line. This side uses a bold font it also states 'A SIDE'
HELD UP WITHOUT A GUN label - has BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN on two lines. This side uses a normal font and it doesn't state 'B SIDE'
Basically it has the wrong label on the Hungry Heart side A (see pic)
The label is in very good condition. The disc has a few small surface scratches and looks like it has probably been played but there are no deep scratches, it does have a small raised blemish on B side which I think came from the manufacture, but the tracks look OK in this area so I think it should play OK. I cant test it as I no longer have a record player
Side A seems to be the older sunburst type label and Side B is the newer format
It was very difficult to value because I have never seen one for sale

The Blue letter sleeve versions are a bit rare especially the promo, Version 8 is very rare but Version 5 and 6 are the ones I have never seen for sale. They are basically the inverse of each other so theoretically there should be as many version 5s as 6s. The one I am selling is version 5 I am also selling Promo Version 1 with the blue lettering sleeve see my other items.
