If you're a fan of 'THE RIVER' and want/need it on vinyl - as the buyer - you're in a great position. With this title the buyer can really afford to expect very high standards. No need to go for a 'really good' copy - you should be aiming at ...'top-level' across the board. And this is what we're offering here. There's nothing average about this copy. It basically aces it across the board. Let's start with the cover - It can end up looking a bit tatty, but this copy is nigh on perfect. And IMPORTANTLY the aesthetic of that front cover is NOT spoiled by a stupid two for one sticker! This copy is the real deal without any stupid stuff spoiling the listeners experience/vista. It's got all the original bits and bobs - we're 100% complete and 100% genuine. But MOST importantly - please please make sure you get yourself a proper 1st issue in absolute top-level condition. Matrix A1/B3/C2/D2. "mastered by Capitol". ALL sides mention 'made in England' at six o'clock.
Vinyl (Ex+) In superb condition and has clearly seen only minimal use. It looks pretty much perfect with clean surfaces. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly EXCELLENT+ level of playback with just a couple of deviations. Intros and inbetweens are perfectly quiet and the audio comes across with perfect clarity. I'm sure you will be able to find other 'very good copies' - but what's the point when you can very easily bag a top-of-the-line original copy on the market 'with one click'. Superb authority and power from the audio. Great low-level detail and atmosphere. Why the heck would anyone buy a reissue! A perfect player into those tricky low-key moments. Independence Day & River can be tricky... but this example executes them clean as a whistle. The only vaguely detrimental things I can detect are a few low-level static crackles in 'Stolen car'. Probably the very fussiest track on the entire album - and impossible to find perfectly clean. And a couple of crackles occasionally in 'Drive All Night'. Fully tested - and it knocks the ball outta-the-park. 
Cover (Ex+) Again, why settle for second best on this release. This is a perfect specimen. Look at the deep blacks...no creasing or surface wear hidden away. The rear has not aged at all - really very nice looking indeed. Edge wear is pretty much non-existent and the spine is 100% intact [and perfectly square]. Overall the cover retains it's box shape and full rigidity. A very very specimen one really couldn't improve upon.
Inner (Ex) In lovely condition with no splits. The only criticism I could level at them was that there's just a touch of faintest ageing. That really is all.
Lyric Insert (Ex+) Perfect - like it was printed yesterday.
Catalogue insert (Ex+)  Perfect - like it was printed yesterday.
