In the UK, back in the 80s, I was a big Springsteen fan and I got on the band-wagon just before that band-wagon just before it got huge with Born In The USA-mania. As such I was buying Springsteen promotional stuff when they were pushing him with picture disks and then later bonus 12 " remixes of remixes etc.
One of the picture disks I bought was this Bruce-shaped Cover Me single with the fold-out plinth. I bought it, took it home, put it in a sealed box with some other Bruce stuff, and left it there. I moved house a few times, emigrated to Australia, and nearly thirty years went by, until today, i took all the stuff out of the box to photograph it as its time to let go.
So here it is.
The classic 1984 single and an amazing picture disc! Still in the clear PVC sleeve, still with the cardboard plinth unfolded, never been played and in immaculate condition!
Also the early pressings of this record had the wrong 45rpm on and they were withdrawn to have it blacked out and the correct 33 1/3rpm added (see photo). Later prints had just 33 1/3rpm on.
Most important is that some of these the vinyl has discoloured to a shade of brown but this one has kept its transparency and is the same condition as the day I bought it.
I'll be extremely careful when packaging this record, and will do my best to answer any questions you may have.
