Born to Love - Slim Smith [Studio One]


DESCRIPTION
One of my favorite sleeves feauturing the late great Slim Smith as a 1973 hipster. Not sure where the ganja leaves come in.  Produced at Brentford Road by Coxsone Dodd, matrix PSOL - 004 A/B. This is the Jamaican issue, althought the matrix suggests an UK release. Every track a winner, with chunes like Rougher Yet, The New Boss and You Don't Care. Please check my other items for more Studio One rarities, including the 2 very rare Port O Jam albums by Sri Chinmoy and 3 other silkscreened sleeves.


CONDITION OF RECORD
VG Some surface noise as a result of the micro groove pressing. A few pops/ticks: one at the end of B3 in the run out of the song, not disturbing. Two on track A5.  Very nice shine to vinyl, like new. Most tracks play loud and clear at VG+, I downgraded the overal rating because of the pops. Please check the soundfile.  But it is a nice copy, no skips or jumps!


CONDITION OF SLEEVE
VG+. A bit of dirt here and there and some ringwear. And the ever present Brentford Road brown glue whih is typical for silkcreens.  Three ballpoint X's behind tracks. All seams are fully intact and colors are lively and vibrant. Very nice copy!

GRADING

Mint
The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality.
The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition.
Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint.

Excellent
The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality.
The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.  

Very Good
The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality,
  despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Some surface noise may be audible, but the music is loud and clear.
Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

Good
The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated,
  perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.  

Fair
The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump.
  The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.  

Poor
The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc.
The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.  

Bad
The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler.
