This is a really interesting, if not somewhat contentious release. 14 years after its initial Japanese release and 9 years after its first (cd) re-issue - we finally got a vinyl version of Absolutego.

This was always going to be a challenge as a single hour-long song is not made for this format. The obvious conclusion therefore is to simply insert a sharp fade between the three sides and press it over two LPs.
Boris have since the 90s classified Absolutego as a one-song single. Southern Lord class this release as an album. Nerds have been arguing over the categories ever since.

Apart from artwork, there is no difference to the audio from what was on the 2001 CD released by SL. However the big difference is that somewhere in the mixing and mastering process, SL decided to slow down Absolutego by a full five minutes & 19 seconds and remix the levels to heavily bolster the bass (hence the "low frequency version"). If you were a fan who at the time didn't have access to the original FAS CD then you wouldn't know the difference.

The anticipation of this music on vinyl for the first time meant that it sold out extremely quickly. The coloured vinyl was exclusive to the SL webstore and sold out on pre-order alone.
