PRD-0028 DJ Promo Copy 1st Press Silver cover with white label that says 'Special Disc Jockey Record NOT FOR SALE' Sleeve is EX+ only because of slightly visible ringwear due to age. Corners and edges still sharp and defined, spine intact. 'DJ not for sale' sticker featured on rear. Otherwise would be NM. Disc is NM, appears unplayed with no spindle marks. Really beautiful copy. Still shines and looks like a brand new record.

• The Incredible Bongo Band was formed to make a single track for the soundtrack to an early 70’s horror film. When that track went to #1 in Canada, the label (undoubtedly smelling money) asked for a full-length follow up. From there it should have been a short hop to obscurity, but a funny thing happened on the way to the dustbin; a house party DJ in the South Bronx named Kool Herc used 2 copies of the record as a way to keep his crowds moving – making it the first breakbeat album ever. The music from those parties is now considered to be the cornerstone of the hip-hop culture and sample-based music. Mojo calls it – no joke – “possibly the most influential album in the history of post-60’s popular music.” This is a piece of hip-hop history having been one of the most sampled records of all time thanks to the famous "Apache" break. But that's just the one everybody knows. There are so many more on the rest of this record...often overlooked, but it's got breaks for days! Don't sleep!!
