Hi folks !

Here is yet another lovely Blue Note find. We have a copy of Bobby Hutcherson's 1967 album "Happenings" issued on Blue Note Records. Catalogue number BLP 4231. This is a mono pressing and features the New York USA labels on both sides. VAN GELDER is stamped into the dead wax.

Vinyl is VG-/VG with some bits of surface wear in places. Light paper scuffs appear in a few places. There is a light scuff on side two that reaches from the centre to the near edge of the LP. Does not affect playback at all. There are a few "bubbles" left over from the pressing process. There are a few light spindle marks on the labels but not bad at all. Overall, this is a pretty clean LP for the most part. No major issues. Recorded by the legendary Rudy Van Gelder. Sounds really very good. Played back with a Sumiko Pearl, processed through a Technics pre-amp, routed through an Adcom power amp and pumped through Boston Acoustics loudspeakers.

Cover is VG-/VG with some wear, though not too bad. We wanted to up this to a VG+ but there are some issues with the back cover slick. The left hand side of the slick is coming apart from the cardboard. There is also a white out mark from where a previous owner wrote their name. We will not try to join the slick to the cover or try to remove the white out. There is a little bit of ring wear on the front cover. There is a small area of wear on the top upper left hand corner, but does not appear to be a split. There is a small split on the upper right hand corner. The spine is in good shape and is completely readable. Corner dents are pretty minimal. Other than that, the cover is actually in pretty good shape.

Item shipped in a cardboard cover with pads for extra protection. Also comes in a brand new outer plastic sleeve and a Discwasher inner sleeve. LP will be separated from cover to prevent damage.
