Description

Bob Marley, Catch a Fire. This is the "definitive edition", pressed on heavyweight vinyl, released by Island and Tuff Gong in 2001. It is a reproduction of the famous "lighter" cover.

Everything about this record is as new. It has never been played and has been kept in its heavy protective sleeve since I bought it.

The record was cleaned with Disc Doctor fluids on a VPI HW-16.5 vacuum record cleaner.

Payment is expected within four days.
EBay's "unpaid item assistant" will open an unpaid item case automatically
if payment has not been received by then.

A word about me

What I am selling is from my own collection, mostly duplicates I need to clear out to make room for new albums. ;-) I have been collecting records for almost thirty years, and I am a serious audiophile. The condition of the vinyl matters very much to me. I rarely buy anything that I do not believe to be in outstanding condition, unless it is an original pressing I know to be rare, and even then I only buy what I think will clean up well. I handle everything with great care, and what I play I play on a custom built turntable with a VPI TNT platter and bearing, Origin Live DC motor, a Graham 2.2 arm, and either a Benz Glider or a Shelter 501 II cartridge. You will generally find my vinyl to be in very good shape. The condition of the cover does not matter as much to me, since I can't listen to it, so those can sometimes be a bit rougher. I'm a music collector, not a record collector.

Shipping Info

The record will ship in an LP mailer. Shipping is a flat $3.00 in the continental US for USPS media mail; shipping will be discounted for multiple items. Records will normally ship the next business day after I receive payment. How long they take to get to you is not under my control; please note that media mail can take up to ten days.

International Bidders: I am happy to ship internationally. The shipping costs shown below are almost certainly too high, as EBay listings don't allow for precise enough weights to be entered. The cost to you will be the actual shipping cost. Please check usps.gov for rates. The box weighs about 7 ounces. Single records can weigh anywhere from 7 ounces (thin vinyl, thin cover) to 18 ounces (200g LP, heavy cover). Typical total weight is about 1 pound 2 ounces. (Please note that the maximum weight for First Class Intenational is four pounds, so multiple records may not be able to be shipped First Class.)

The best method is Priority Mail International, which includes some insurance and is trackable "to major destinations", whatever that means. But it is expensive and will typically be $26.00 to $30.00, depending upon your location. Note, however, that it is only expensive for the first record. Additional records should be no more than $3.00 each and may not cost any additional to ship. This all depends upon weight, and weight can vary.

The cheapest method of shipment is First Class Mail International, which should be between $12.00 and $14.00, in most cases. But this is not trackable and cannot be insured. I cannot accept responsibility for items that go astray if they cannot be tracked or insured. The invoice will therefore include the following text:

If you select First Class Mail International as your method of shipment, you thereby agree to relieve the Seller from all responsibility for non-delivery of the item and thereby relinquish any right you may have had, either from EBay or from PayPal, to a refund for non-delivery. Presentation of a Certificate of Mailing shall constitute adequate proof that the item was shipped, and the cost of such a certificate will be included in the shipping costs.
