Very 1st Columbia Records "Two-Eyes" CL-1986 Mono White Label Radio Station Promotional Copy. Columbia Records "Radio Station Service Not For Sale" timing strip on the front cover with the withdrawn tracks: Rocks and Gravel, Let Me Die In My Footsteps, Gamblin' Willie's Dead Man's Hand and Talkin' John Birch Blues. Very early 1st print cardboard cover contains the "1" number in the lower right-hand corner on the back which indicates that the cover was made by Modern Album Finishing Co., probably at their Terre Haute, IN, facility. The center of the back cover contains a black rubber ink stamp reading "DEMONSTRATION NOT FOR SALE". The condition of the promo cover is one of the best I've ever seen. Brilliant. Printed in USA Columbia Records 2-Eyes white labels with the catalog number CL-1986. Original promotional 2nd label variation with the final tracks listing. This is one of the rarest promo copies whose cover contains inside an insanely rare Columbia Records' notice reading "NOTICE CL 1986 / CS 8786 Please note that on Side 1, Band 3 and Band 6 are reversed." The note refers to the withdrawn tracks listing and not the final tracks listing which is present on the back cover and labels. This is the true authentic original notice manually typed on the typewriter in 1963.

The vinyl was mastered by Customatrix, the subsidiary of Columbia Records and CBS, Inc., as indicated by the small "o" in the trail-off vinyl on both sides. Columbia Records Pittman, NJ plant pressing as indicated by the "P" stamp in the trail-off vinyl and 2.75" pressing ring on the labels. Matrix Numbers: Side 1 - XLP-58717-3A P o I / Side 2 - XLP-58718-2A P o I. The clean cover is graded as Near Mint Minus and doesn't have any ring wear, writing or splits having only the minimal edge wear. Some very light barely noticeable scuffing on the corners. The vinyl is in Very Good Plus condition with Side 1 being almost in Excellent Minus condition if it wasn't due to a very light half an inch mark along with some minimum amount of light scuffs from the original plain paper inner sleeve that comes with the album and is in Near Mint Minus condition. Side 2 also has a light one inch mark and some very light surface scuffs. None of the marks or scuffs are feelable and affect the playback.
