Description
Bob Dylan is an American songwriter, singer, artist, and writer. He has been influential in the popular music culture for more than 50 years. His most celebrated work dates from the 1960's when his early songs chronicled social unrest, and became anthems for the American civil rights and anti-war movements. The Basement Tapes is his sixteenth studio album released in 1975 by Capitol Records. Dylan was backed by a five member rock group, The Hawks, who later became famous as The Band. These informal recording sessions were moved to the basement of Big Pink, a house in New York. Bob Dylan had an amazing writing ability, he would come in, sit down at the typewriter, write a song, and almost every one of those songs were funny. Before Dylan gave permission for the release of some basement recordings, many had already been illegally released. The recording Industry Association of America described Dylan as, "The most bootlegged artist in the history of the music industry". The gatefold album cover is in very good+ condition.
