Description
For sale is an excellent example of a very hard to find Dylan box set. These are the first recordings made of Bob Dylan as he was playing blues and folk standards around the cafes of New York's Greenwich Village, but they include many of his own compositions. The recordings are mono, are very good considering they were recorded live and are an excellent archive for understanding Dylan's roots and early years. Some of these recordings have been released officially on various CDs but are very difficult to get hold of all in one place and particularly on vinyl - try searching the net for a copy now. Included with the box set is a 46 page document detailing the history of all three Gaslight recordings with lyrics to each song and biographical details of some of the artists being covered by Dylan. I have set the starting price to reflect the rarity of this box set, that ebay apparently don't recognise that well packed and insured items cost more than £4.00 to post and the fact that if it can't sell for that then I'd much rather keep it in my collection.
The Box is graded Ex- because there are couple of finger smears on the back (sounds much worse than it really is)
The vinyl is graded as follows:Record 1 Ex-, Record 2 Ex-, Record 3 Ex+. The Ex- grading is because the relevant records show minimal signs of playing and although Record 2-Side B-Track 1 shows signs that it has been slightly scuffed this has no effect on the audio and is included in the pictures.
