Description

An original 1964 copy of the DEBUT on CBS. 1st pressings were from a couple of years earlier - by Phillips. BUT - by 1964 CBS had installed pressing plant in the UK  - and this is one of the copies from the new plant in late '64. As was typical of this period it is pressed heavy. matrix 3A-1/3B-1. Labels exhibit the large "33" speed. The vinyl comes housed in an original mono cover with flipbacks. We have an original poly-lined from the period. So, its 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex/Ex-) In lovely condition and has seen relatively light use. Nice shiny surfaces. A couple of funny looking blemishes [superficial/surface level] on side 2 - but they do not impinge on the audio. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly EXCELLENT level of playback. Now, my experience with early Dylan records is - very few of them actually sound good after this passage of time. Only now and again do you manage to snag one that can properly give you a clean rendition. And when you hear one - you can really marvel at the audio they packed onto these simple discs. Plays pretty clean into all areas. Even into those really low-key numbers like...'Song To Woody'. Not perfect by any means - but much much better than what typically surfaces from this period. A few isolated crackles in a couple of moment per side. A cracking performer.
Cover (Vg+) A lovely shiny front with just one crease in the top left. The rear seems to have avoided the worst of the usual ageing process. All flipbacks are intact and secure. The spine is 100% intact. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity.
Inner (Vg+) Light ageing. No splits though.
