Description

A superb and complete 1985 five-LP edition of Bob Dylan – Biograph, issued by CBS as catalogue number 66509 and presented in its original box with both original booklets present in Mint condition. Biograph was one of the most ambitious Dylan archival releases produced during the original vinyl era, assembling 53 recordings across five LPs and spanning more than two decades of his career. Rather than functioning as a straightforward greatest-hits collection, the set combines landmark recordings with alternate takes, live performances, rarities and previously unreleased material, making it an essential overview of Dylan’s development from the early Greenwich Village recordings through to his 1980s work. Major songs including Blowin’ In The Wind, The Times They Are A-Changin’, Mr. Tambourine Man, Like A Rolling Stone, All Along The Watchtower, Tangled Up In Blue, Forever Young and Gotta Serve Somebody sit alongside rarities such as Percy’s Song, Abandoned Love, Caribbean Wind, Up To Me and I’ll Keep It With Mine. This particular example is especially impressive for its condition. All five records retain an exceptional appearance and look to have seen very little, if any, play. They are conservatively graded EX+ rather than described as unplayed. The presence of both original booklets in Mint condition makes this a particularly complete and desirable collector’s set. Both original booklets are present and in Mint condition. They remain exceptionally clean with no notable creasing, staining, writing or meaningful handling wear. Their condition is a major strength of this copy and makes the set considerably more attractive than examples with missing or heavily worn printed material.

Condition

Sleeve: EX
The original presentation box remains in excellent condition with only minor signs of previous storage and handling. It remains structurally strong and presents very well, with only light age-related wear preventing a higher grade.

Vinyl: EX+
All five records are exceptionally clean, retaining superb glossy playing surfaces. There are only the faintest signs of previous handling visible under close inspection. The records genuinely appear to have been barely played, if at all. They have been conservatively graded EX+ rather than Near Mint or unplayed.

Please study all photographs carefully as they form part of the description and condition assessment.
