Description of item:

Karl #3009
"Hey,Hey, Don't Tease Me"/"Just a piece of paper"
Mega rare Ohio recording.
From http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bo_Ratliff :
"Bo Ratliff (born James Richard Ratliff in 1933 in Logan County, West Virginia) was a rockabilly  and country music singer of the 1950s and 1960s. Ratliff has also recorded under the name Jim Ratliff. His first record was a rockabilly record as "Bo Ratliff and Country Kinfolk" for rockabilly  singer Clay Eager's Karl Records out of Springfield, Ohio in 1959. Bo Ratliff and Bozo Ratliff (another 1950s rockabilly singer) are two different musicians. Bo Ratliff's first release was for the Karl Label. Bo Ratliff confirmed this himself."
From http://www.45rpmrecords.com/OH/Karl.php :
Karl Records - London, OH
Owner: Clay Eager
Notes: Eager-Wood Productions
"Clay Eager (Wilbur Carl Eagy) was a frequent performer in the 1950's on WLW's Renfro Valley Barn Dance, The Midwestern Hayride and more. His rockabilly classic "Helen Jo" was written for his wife, Helen Jo Eager. In 1961, Cincinnati radio station WCKY-AM began broadcasting the live WCKY Ohio Jamboree from Madison Lake Park in London, Ohio with Clay Eager as the emcee and featuring both country and bluegrass music. Clay recorded many of his fellow performers on his Karl label as well as other labels. Eager-Wood productions was Clay Eager and his Father In Law “Pops” Wood. Pops was in charge of the engineering at the jamboree and in the studio."

Condition is VG - - (Very Good Minus Minus) "Hey,Hey, Don't Tease Me" has some clicks in the first few seconds. They do not over power the music. I played it thru my computer speakers and the clicks didn't sound bad. Scratch going across the record.
"Hey,Hey, Don't Tease Me" - Rockabilly with a touch of early Johnny Cash going on.
"Just a piece of paper" - The flip side is pure C&W. Sounds good. Some mild scuffs.

Record Grading:

RECORDS ARE GRADED VISUALLY

SS. Still Sealed & unplayed.
UNPLAYED. Usually store stock records I have
more than 1 copy of that I know haven't been played.
M. I never grade anything MINT
NM . Nearly flawless, nice shine and clean
labels. May have a "BB" hole in the label.
VG++ . Very nice record, not quite NM.
May have a light surface scratch not
affecting the sound or maybe a light name
written on the label.
Otherwise a very collectible record.
VG+ . Not quite as nice as VG++
but still a good record.
G++/VG-. Has some problems, scratches
and scuffs and probably an inferior label
with soil and wear.
G-/Fair/Poor. Usually worn out. I will only offer
records in this condition if they are extremely
rare.
