Lexington Avenue – Deep Groove – VG++ 1956
Blue Note Records BLP 1514 Jimmy Smith at the Organ, Vol. 2 - The Champ. Recorded in New York on the 27th of March, 1956 and released shortly thereafter … this is Jimmy Smith’s second LP release on Blue Note.
Ultra clean label … 767 Lexington Ave. NYC address and "RVG" and ear etched in the dead wax.
Deep Groove version. Ultra clean jacket and record are in VG ++ or better condition. A few light scuffs possibly from the sleeve it’s been stored in and I saw a few very light marks on track 1 - Side B. Has not seen a lot of play. Very well taken care of. Has a lot of shine. Incredible shape for almost 50 years old.
Back of jacket is still quite white and it looks great … VG++ or better … Great, non-blemished Francis Wolff and Reid Miles cover … A very cool picture of Jimmy Smith. A bit of shelf wear … not writing, splits or tears … great shape! More liner notes by Babs Gonzales.
One of the cleaner copies of this record I’ve seen … I believe I’m the 2nd owner … It’s not seen a lot of time on a turntable. Low reserve.
