Blackfoot – No Reservations LP (1975) Island Records ILPS 9326 Southern Rock Classic

Turn it up and let it ride. No Reservations is Blackfoot at full throttle, capturing the raw, hard-driving Southern rock sound that made them a staple of mid-1970s FM radio. Released in 1975 on Island Records, this album shows the band tightening their attack while still keeping that gritty, swampy edge. The guitars are loud and confident, the rhythms are built for the open road, and Ricky Medlocke’s vocals carry both bite and soul.

This record sits right in the sweet spot of the Southern rock era, bridging blues roots with a heavier, almost hard rock punch. Fans of Lynyrd Skynyrd, Molly Hatchet, and early .38 Special will feel right at home here. Island Records gave Blackfoot strong production on this release, letting the band sound big without sanding down their rough edges. It is an album made to be played loud, front to back, with no filler and no apologies.

Original pressings like this remain popular with collectors who appreciate classic American rock in its purest form. Whether you are filling a gap in your Southern rock collection or discovering Blackfoot beyond the radio staples, No Reservations delivers an honest, road-tested sound that still holds up decades later.
