1st ISSUE ONLY LYRICS CREDITS INNER SLEEVE, IN MINT- CONDITION.
1st ISSUE GATEFOLD COVER IN VERY GOOD CONDITION.
THE RECORD IS GRADED EXCELLENT+++ CONDITION.
The First Black Sabbath Lp not to be released on the Vertigo Label. This followed a legal battle in which sabbath spent nearly 2 inactive years. However they signed to the WWA label and produced what is arguably one of their best LP's.
Do not get confused with this label, as it was reissued on the NEMS label sometime later. the WWA pressing is absolutely the first press of this Lp.
Another tell tale sign is that the first pressings all had the lyric inner sleeve. This one has the inner sleeve, and not only does it have the inner sleeve, but it is also a perfect inner sleeve. this is important because most of these are found split due to the flimsy paper they were made of. I will ensure it arrives with the new owner in the same condition.
The sleeve is a non laminated gatefold and has 2 superb pictures on it. The front cover showns a dying man on a bed surrounded by nakes devil worshppers, rats and snakes. clearly this man is on his way to hell. The back of the sleeve is a similar picture, but here we see the man surounded by angels, and weeping relatives. here he is apparently going to heaven.
The sleeve is in VG condition and only shows a bit of shelf wear where it has been stored in my collection. The reason why this copy is in such good condition is the sleeve has been stored in a protective plastic sleeve & the vinyl has never been stored in the lyric inner sleeve while I have owned it for the past 20 years, instead it has been kept in a generic inner sleeve.
The vinyl is in stunning condition, and plays superbly all the way through. Not only does it gleam like new, it plays that way too.
no distortion, background crackles etc.
easily grades NMINT for the vinyl & inner sleeve & VG+ for the outer sleeve
