Description

Rarely seen Vocalion 1964 repress of the 1959 original of Billy Strayhorn's Septet outing Cue for Saxophone.
Masterful recording helmed by the fine piano playing of Strayhorn, Duke Ellington's long time collaborator, supported by Quentin Jackson (trombone), Cue Porter (alto sax), Harold 'Shorty' Baker (Trumpet), Russell Procope (clarinet), Al Hall (bass) and Oliver Jackson (drums).
The front laminated sleeve has survived remarkably well and grades just under excellent due to some spotting and minor ringwear on the back cover.
The vinyl is in gorgeous condition and barely has a mark on it - rich gloss and plays through beautifully.
Excellent labels.
Excellent period poly lined white inner sleeve.
Seldom seen – top notch find for jazz fans.
Postage and Packing: UK £4.50 2nd Class, Europe £12.50, Rest of the World £25 (both tracked)
