Offered is an original Sam Phillips Recording Studios "DEMO ONLY" acetate/reference disc featuring Billy Lee Riley's recordings of "Mississippi Delta" and "Feel It."
This acetate was produced at Sam Phillips Recording Studios, 639 Madison Avenue, Memphis, Tennessee, the legendary studio founded by Sam Phillips after the original Sun Studio. These studio acetates were created in extremely limited quantities as reference or demonstration discs and were never intended for commercial sale.
What makes this acetate truly exceptional is its provenance.
This disc comes directly from the personal collection of Billy Lee Riley and is being offered for sale by his daughter. It remained in Billy's personal archive for decades and is not simply another collector's copy.
Billy Lee Riley was one of the pioneering artists of Sun Records, best known for classics including "Red Hot" and "Flying Saucers Rock and Roll." Throughout his career he continued recording and producing at Sam Phillips Recording Studios, making studio reference discs such as this an important part of his musical legacy.
Original Sam Phillips Recording Studios acetates were produced in very limited numbers and represent an important piece of Memphis recording history. This is a rare opportunity to own an authentic studio reference disc from Billy Lee Riley's personal archive.
