Description

Up for bid is a rare mono LP, "Explorations: Bill Evans Trio," featuring Bill Evans, Scott La Faro, and Paul Motian. See pictures for song list. This was released by Riverside (RLP 351) in 1961. Interior labels are blue with silver lettering with the reel logo at the top. There is a deep groove on either side of the interior labels. I assume that this was a radio promo, as it has a hole drilled in the center of the jacket and the jacket has an ink stamp on the back lower left corner (see pictures). The hole was drilled through the center of the LP as well (see pictures) and does not affect the play of the LP. LP is VG+, with light scuffs on either side. There are a couple of light scratches on each side as well. LP plays with some surface noise (some intermittent crackle, tics, and pops) with no skips. LP is very clean and retains a nice gloss. Interior labels are very clean. Jacket is VG+, with a couple of small seam splits. The first is on the top seam that starts at the mouth of the jacket and travels toward the spine about 1/2 inch. The second is on the bottom seam that starts at the mouth and travels toward the spine about 1/2 inch. There is wear on all seams and corners. There is ring wear on the front and back of the jacket. This LP sounds nice and is quite enjoyable to listen to - here are a couple of tracks from this actual LP, unaltered in any way (the second track has, in my opinion, the most noticeable surface noise on the LP):
