Sides 1 and 2 recorded December 28, 1959; Side 3 and 4 February 2, 1961
Side 1 and 2 originally issued as Portrait In Jazz. The two takes of "Autumn Leaves" first appeared on Riverside 315 and stereophonic Riv. 1162 versions of the album - the early stereo equipement having malfunctioned during the recording of the first-preference performance.
Side 3 and 4 originally issued as Explorations (Riv. 351). "The Boy Next Door" was not released at that time because the artist was not fully satisfied with it; the producer has chosen to include it now to demonstrate how well even a self-considered lesser Evans effort stands the test of time.
Original recordings and this reissue produced by Orrin Keepnews.

This Record includes the Loricraft PRC-6 Deep Cleanse Package: See Below for Details• Loricraft PRC6 Record Cleaning Machine is Loricraft’s latest offering in the Vinyl Cleaning Marketplace and is the standard that other cleaners are measured by.
• The bigger chassis houses a larger pump that provides the same suction as other models but is quieter.
