The booklet says "Rerecording and tape assembly by Danny Kopelson: Remastered by Gary Hobish -- at Fantasy Studios (Berkeley): Summer 1984." The sound is comparable to the regular OJC vinyl - clear and open, vey pleasant listening. Not on the order of Steve's 45s, but much like the separately available OJC Evans lps if you have heard any of those. I wouldn't pay an arm and a leg for it, but if it's truly NM it's worth a few hundred bucks (IMHO) to have this material in this configuration and on vinyl, especially if you're a big Evans fan.
I enjoy listening to the Village Vanguard sets in order (7 sides), and also the Moonbeams/How My Heart Sings recordings (4 sides) in session order. The "Solo Sessions" (4 sides) are magificent too.

A Beautiful 18LP box set covering 151 performances from 1956-1963 with several previously unreleased recordings. This is R-018 on the Riverside Label of Fantasy, Inc. and was issued in 1984 as part of a Limited Edition of 5,000.
 
The set consists of a sleeve with two inner cases, 18 LPs in lined paper sleeves and an excellent 32-page booklet detailing the recording sessions, provides a spread of the original album covers 1956-1964 in color and a complete Album Identification under the Riverside, Riverside (ABC), Milestone, Prestige, Impulse (ABC) and OJC (Original Jazz Classics) labels.
 
The 18 records are a conservative VG++ and housed in new black color paper and plastic inner sleeves (albums are contained in two inner boxes). There are some light surface marks (scuffing) on some sides, all vinyls are professionally cleaned. The outer box is VG++, there are also a couple of minor visual imperfections in the leatherette imitation material. The brochure is a very strong VG++ (an eyelash from NM) condition.
 
Rare Riverside box set, very hard-to-find in any condition. A collector's item, highly recommended!

This magnificent 18-LP set contains all of Bill Evans' Riverside recordings as a leader, an extremely important period in the influential pianist's development. The first session predates Evans' period with the Miles Davis Sextet and other significant sessions include his sets with bassist Scott LaFaro and drummer Paul Motian (highlighted by the marathon Village Vanguard session of June 25, 1961), Evans' return nearly a year after LaFaro's death in a car accident with a new trio (consisting of Motian and bassist Chuck Israels), a sideman set with altoist Cannonball Adderley, the Interplay sessions with either trumpeter Freddie Hubbard or tenor saxophonist Zoot Sims, an extensive and rather somber solo set, and a 1963 appearance at Shelly's Manne Hole with bassist Israels and drummer Larry Bunker. Twenty sessions are released in full, 147 selections in all, including 24 performances that had been previously unissued at the time.

Dieses Vinyl wurde bereits gespielt, weist aber keinerlei (oder nur sehr geringfügige) Gebrauchspuren auf.
Das Cover und das Label sind in hervorragendem Zustand. Beide wurden weder beschrieben oder beklebt.
4. VG+ (very good+)
Die Schallplatte ist häufiger abgespielt worden, weist aber keine wesentlichen Qualitätsverluste auf.
Kleine Kratzer bzw. leichtes Rauschen können vorkommen.
Das Cover kann kleine Einrisse oder Abnutzungen haben, ist aber in gutem Zustand.
5. VG (very good)
Dieses Vinyl wurde häufig gespielt und hat an Klangqualität verloren.
Kleine Kratzer, leichtes Rauschen sind gegeben.
Das Cover ist in ordentlichem Zustand, weist aber Abnutzungserscheinungen auf.
6. VG- (very good-)
Dieses Vinyl wurde häufiger gespielt, hat Kratzer und an Qualität verloren.
Das Cover ist eingerissen oder beschriftet, das Label ggf. ebenfalls beschriftet.
7. G (good) 

Dieses Vinyl hat erheblich an Qualität verloren.
Es können Verzerrungen oder größere Kratzer vorkommen.
Das Cover ist stark beschädigt - Label und Cover sind ggf. beschriftet.

ÜBER MICH: Obwohl mich eBay jetzt als gewerblicher Verkäufer eingestuft hat, betreibe ich die Vinyl-Leidenschaft ausschließlich als Hobby.

BEWERTUNG: Ich bewerte die Platten generell etwas strenger.

Trotzdem sind alle LPs grundsätzlich mit der eBay-Einordnung "sehr gut" gekennzeichnet, weil diese mindesten "VG" (very good) sind.
