Description

Sealed and presumably pristine copy of legendary cult band Big Star's double vinyl set of demos used in preparing their classic third album. Released on Omnivore Records in 2016 with label # OVLP-196. Retains its red hype sticker attached to the front plastic wrap. Alex Chilton and Jody Stephens prepared these demos with the assistance of Jim Dickinson and others as listed on the back cover. Songs include Take Care; Holocaust; Thank You Friends; Jesus Christ; I'm in Love with a Girl; O, Dana; Big Black Car along with cover versions of Femme Fatale by the Velvet Underground, Baby Strange by T-Rex, and Till the End of the Day by the Kinks. Essential recording for all fans of Big Star, a Memphis-based band whose brilliant work went unrecognized at the time of their albums' original release.
