Description
Hello and welcome to my auction. Over the next few weeks I will be selling off the rest of my vinyl records from my own collection. I will list the records with as much accuracy and honesty as I would like to see when I am buying. I will post all records fully insured and as quickly as I can in heavy set record mailers with two spacers and the vinyl in a spare poly-lined inner. In short, it will be bomb proof! All my records have been kept in thick plastic wallets, stored upright at all times and played minimally on high grade equipment. In short, I love vinyl as much as you and can expect only the best service. Well that’s the mission statement over with, on to the record at hand...

Here we have a genuine first pressing of Beggars Opera Act One, their widely accepted greatest record. This is the very first pressing with the gatefold outer sleeve, Vertigo inner sleeve and vinyl on the vertigo Swirled label. Only the very first run of this infamous record has the matrix ending 1Y//1 and 2Y//1.
This is a hard to find Vertigo release at the best of times but in this condition it’s a true rarity!

Outer Sleeve Condition
The first press gatefold outer sleeve is in great condition for its age. The first press spine is fully readable, straight with some paper rubbing to the middle. There is a small sticker removal to the front and the edges have some mild shelf wear. The colours are still as vibrant as they ever were and the inside of the gatefold is as lovely as it could be! A solid sleeve!

Inner Sleeve Condition
The first press Vertigo swirl inner sleeve has some seam splits to the right and bottom edge, a little yellowing and a small tip ex mark to the bottom. The sleeve still hold the vinyl as it should

Vinyl Visual Condition
This is where the record shines! Literally! It still retains its wonderful shine and lustre and there isn’t a mark to be noted. It looks unplayed and under a bulb we can only see the mildest of removals! Unheard of!

The first pressing Vertigo Swirl labels look as new with no writing, stains or spindles to be seen!

The record plays beautifully with no loud pops or crackle. It is a loud and crystal clear playback from start to finish. There is no distortion in the louder parts with a clear definition between all the different elements of the band! Just an audiophillic playback that jumps off the record and into your grateful ears!
