Description
You are bidding on a 5LP boxed set of Beethoven THE LATE QUARTETS, as played at the Edinburgh International Festival – 1957. The Hollywood String Quartet. Capitol PER 8394. Made in Canada.
This is a first issue late 1950's mono set on the Capital Green/Gold label. This original issue is a 5LP set. Later EMI reissues of these recordings were four records. A beautiful set much sought after and very hard to find in top condition.
Records are in virtually mint condition, with just the rarest light mark visible only in the strongest light! Difficult to find in such beautiful condition! Original Capitol inner sleeves. Includes 8-page oversized booklet with notes in lovely condition, unmarked! Green/gold Capitol labels (see photos).
Box has split corners and edges and shows some corner and edge wear. Also a bit of rubbing and a few scratches on front and some markings in ink. Nevertheless top and bottom are attached, lettering is clear on spine, bottom corners are crisp and tight, and box is still more than serviceable!
