Beatles-Rel 1976 George Harrison TEST PRESSING 45 This Song w RARER Pic Sleeve!

I can’t test-play vinyl at the minute, so with that said…

This 45 looks like it was tested by Apple, rather than by Warner Bros., who distributed Dark Horse Records.  In addition to the Los Angeles asterisk being in the dead wax, the labels are also the same cream-color as the white in the Los Angeles sliced Apple.  They also have exactly the same slightly rough texture that west coast Apple labels have.

This Song MONO/STEREO

See compere photos of the promo copy of this 45.  The promos were pressed from the identical plates as the test pressing, assuring you that this is not a fake.

Vinyl: EX/NM.  One side has a few very short, extremely light lines that you’re going to have to hunt for.  45 presents as NM under normal room lighting.

Labels: NM/NM.  It’s pretty unusual to find test pressings that were not manually labeled for easy identification.  These labels are perfectly clean.

Picture Sleeve: For those unfamiliar, this 45 was issued with two commercial versions of the picture sleeve.  The more common sleeve is dark silver, and has high gloss.  Those sleeves almost always are found with heavy ringwear from the label serrations.

The other version, not widely known about, is this lighter-colored silver with semi-gloss.  I’ve only seen two of these, and they both came with west coast 45’s.  Whereas the dark silver sleeves are almost always seen with damage, these lighter sleeves aren’t seen at all.

This sleeve has NO serration ringwear damage, but it does have a moderate amount of finger divots on the front, hardly any on the back.  Very light record outdent.  Front has what looks like a very light pencil line at the bottom left.  Back has a manufacturer’s defect popped bubble from the application of the gloss.  NO SEAM SPLITS.

A remarkably clean copy of this rarer sleeve!

A generic white sleeve will be provided to protect your Picture Sleeve sleeve during shipping.

Plates: DRC-8294-UAA-7228-S LW-2 A LA asterisk/ DRC-8294-UAA-7228-DJ LW-2 A LA asterisk (very faint at the 6 o’clock position)

As these records have been in storage for many years, they will play back with crackling and tics, however; a good moisturizing and cleaning with either D4 Discwasher or a VPI machine always clears them up.  Thanks!)

Note:  All 45’s ship outside of their sleeves in order not to damage the sleeve during shipment. Generic plain, white sleeves and Mylar provided.

Please don’t bid unless you’re willing to honor your amount, okay? Thanks!

(Please note:  Regarding play-testing, my Technics turntable has somehow seized.  The tone arm is stuck in the up position, and I can’t get it to fully return to its cradle.  Is there anyone out there, who can tell me if this is an easy fix?  Thanks!)
