Matrix: XEX 481-3N and XEX 482-3N (unchanged from 1st pressing)
Stampers: 7ATO and 8AHR
Although I have not come across another copy and it is not documented in my 2008 edition of the 'Record Collector', misprints section, this is surely no less significant than, Beatles For Sale's (Losser), Rubber Soul's (Norweigian Wood) and the White album's (Racoon), label errors. With this in mind, as well as the fabulous condition of the disc, I have set a high starting price, as I believe it will acquire equal status, when eventually acknowledged.
Audibly and visually, the disc is as close to mint as you are likely to get. Near silent track run ins, are followed by crystal clear mono sound, blasting from the speakers, to produce perfect playback on all tracks. There is the occasional presence of mild peak wear but this really is of little significance. The deep gloss vinyl surfaces appear pristine and only display a few wispy handling lines when angled towards a bright light. Even then, they are hard to see.
The labels are in superb condition with all text vibrant and undamaged. The yellow 'Parlophones' are absolutely perfect. There is a collection of light spindle trails very close to the hole, showing careful alignment and handling of this disc. Side 1, has the second track, 'KNOW' label error.
The Garrod and Lofthouse cover is in reasonable condition, showing general wear and tear. The spine is perfect but the front has some small creases and although the flip backs are tightly glued, there is a bump to the R/H bottom corner. The unprotected back panel has stayed fairly white and is free from any writing.
The original tracing paper lined, Emitex inner sleeve is in fine order, with just a little creasing and age toning but no tears or other damage.
All in all, a very rare item, in fabulous condition.
