UK 1966 *FACTORY SAMPLE* 1st PRESS EP
This hard to find 1966 1st UK pressing 4-track EP is on the yellow & black Parlophone label: GEP 8948
The side 1 label bears a 100% genuine 'Factory Sample - Not For Sale' promo sticker.
Both labels bear the 'Sold in UK..' text with 'Gramophone Co. Ltd..' worded rims.
The 'KT' purchase tax code is visible in the centre of the side 1 label.
Housed in a front laminated, rounded bi-flipback picture cover.
Matrix numbers: 7TCE 894-1 & 7TCE 895-1
Stamper codes: 1/H & 3/P
CONDITION
Labels: NEAR MINT
A completely unworn and undamaged pair which bear just three or four faint spindle trails around each unworn centre hole.
Visual: EXCELLENT
Clean, glossy and unblemished playing surfaces which are free from any scuffs or scratches when examined in strong daylight. Close inspection directly beneath my powerful halogen desk lamp reveals some harmless wispy paper-type hairlines but no major marks or wear.
Play: VERY GOOD
This copy has clearly received very little play and there is no evidence of any groovewear on any track. Some light background is present and most noticeable on 'Yesterday'. There are also a few light clicks between tracks, but no further significant audible distractions.
Cover
VERY GOOD -
A clean & bright front panel, spoilt only by an 8mm tear to the front opening edge. However, all corners are sharp and free from any bumps or bruising. The rear panel is discoloured but there are no major marks or any writing or missing paper. Both flipbacks are fully intact and all seams unstressed, smooth & unworn.
