Beatles Yesterday & Today Butcher Cover

Trunk Pastover w/Clear Ringo Neck, Face Knees

    Absolutely stunning mono version of the Beatles infamous Butcher cover with trunk pastover (so-called Second State).  These are now more valuable and rarer than the peeled versions (Third State) because over the past 40 years folks have been badly peeling these.  More valuable on top of that because Ringo's V-neck, head  and knees are crystal clear through this trunk pastover--there is no doubt what is underneath. 

   I have taken very detailed photos of this gem; I would grade the cover as NM-; or 9.2 on a scale of 10.  Some very slight disoloration and backis closer to VG+ because of very little ring wear.  The top and sides splines show NO WEAR OR SEAM SPLIT WHATSOEVER which is very rare for this 39 year old album.  There is absolutely NO YELLOWING--the back and front are crystal clear white which again is so unique for this cover. The splines are tight.  The insert is in NM conditon; the record (who cares??) is in NM+ condition but since you can put any record from this era with the sleeve I doubt many of you will be paying attention to the record or sleeve condition.

    Now check out the bottom left corner.  I love this--very little area where pasteover has been raised.  I would leave this like it is to show the butcher underneath; others might want to do very simple repair with glue to make this mintie again.  Take your choice--as I said I love it like this.  Number on back is #6.  Some say #3 or rarer but folks no one really knows for sure how many were saved and from which plant--so I find this distinction complete nonsense!  A great butcher is a great butcher.

     Guaranteed authentic Second state Beatles Butcher album.  The price guides say this is worth around $1200--$1500 in this condition.  Recent Ebay auctions have Second States in poorer condition than this one (like a raised corner, for example) going between $800 and $1000.   This one is nicer than any I have seen on Ebay in the past three months but for the still sealed versions that have fetched upwards of $3000.

 Finally, folks be sure and buy from a seller who knows Butcher covers and delivers faithfully to buyers like yourself! Obviously so much of what you are buying is based on the seller's description--buy from whom knows butchers and represents them fairly.

     Again, what makes this Butcher scream out is the wonderful spline condition, the super transparent Ringo V Neck, head  and knees.  Why buy a trunk paste over that is not obviously a Butcher cover?  If you have been waiting for a great condition Mono Trunk cover for a decent price--wait no more!
