THE COVER: 

Scranton Pennsylvania #3 Cover

The peel on this butcher is beautiful!  The peel was done by Jim Hansen at Blue Jay Way Galleries - who is recognized as one of the world's leading butcher artists.  Jim is our exclusive butcher artist, and all of our butchers are done in beautiful detail by him!   He has been peeling butchers since 1971, and has made butcher restoration a true form of art!   

The colors on this butcher are pure, sweet, and bold.   As with virtually all of our butchers, the pictures below allow you to see the incredible fine dot matrix texture of the original butcher slick that has been exposed.  This only happens with a properly peeled butcher.  Look at the detail on the baby doll's head, and the finite detail of that dot matrix printing!  NOT ONE SINGLE SPOT HAS BEEN TOUCHED UP ON THIS BUTCHER!  The detail is great.

The seams are in good physical shape without any splits!  This is highly unusual to find butchers with seams that are not split.  There is the smallest of a micro crack on the spine down by the Capitol logo, but it is superficial and due to age - it is not a split.  As stated, everything else is still in good condition. The printing on the spine is clean and legible and looks great. The edges of the slick are a nice white with just the slightest hint of aging..  You just don't get this very often on a butcher as most being sold on ebay are really yellowed.   The overall brightness of the edges frame the stunning blue and gray hues of this slick beautifully.   The blues, grays, and purples in this butcher are way above average in contrast.  The colorful nature of this butcher is the most outstanding feature of this one. The fleshtones of the faces, dolls, and meat are vivid and look real!  If there is any touch up, we will inform the customer, and there is none on this butcher.  There are some extremely light classic Scranton lines in the cover, but those are light and very normal on this cover.  There is light staining and aging on the back.  Its an average butcher on the back side - what you commonly see with a 40 plus year old record cover.  

An fully intact original peeled trunk cover is included. Please note that these are very fragile and need to be handled carefully.  This one has a very light name in pen on the slick.

THE LP IS A GLOSSY VG ON THE VINYL WITH NM RAINBOW LABELS.   NM LPS FOR THIS TITLE MAY BE AS RARE AS NM COVERS!  THE LP HAS BEEN CLEANED ON A VPI RECORD CLEANER .  ALSO INCLUDED IS AN  ORIGINAL SCRANTON GREEN CAPITOL 66 INNER SLEEVE MAKING THIS A COMPLETE 1966 CAPITOL RECORDS YESTERDAY AND TODAY BUTCHER PACKAGE.
