1963 UK 2nd PRESS MONO LP
**MISPRESSED FACTORY SAMPLE**
This rare & unusual copy of a 1963 2nd mono pressing is on the UK black & yellow Parlophone label: PMC 1206
One label carries a genuine pointed-ended 'Factory Sample' sticker (marked with an asterisk).
Both sides have side 1 labels which omit the 'Sold in UK..' text but have 'Parlophone Co..' rims.
The 'MT tax/price code is visible on the 'side 1' label.
Housed in a front laminated, tri-flipback 'Garrod & Lofthouse' printed mono cover with the incorrect '..GOTTA..' spelling.
Complete with its original 'Use Emitex' rice-paper lined inner-sleeve.
Matrix numbers: XEX 447-5N & XEX 448-6N
Stamper numbers: 7/GDP & 4/AG
Labels: VERY GOOD MINUS
SLight centrehole touch-up with some faint ballpoint pen impressions on the 'non-factory sample' label.
Visual: VERY GOOD
Clean, glossy surfaces bearing some light scratches - none of which are deep or 'feelable'.
Close inspection directly under a halogen desk lamp reveals no further significant wear.
Heavy, sharp-edged vinyl which lies 100% flat both sides on the turntable with no dishing or warping.
Audio: VERY GOOD
Although played many times, there is no trace of groovewear distortion or background crackle on any track.
There is an occaisional light tick between some tracks but no heavy clicks, jumps or repeats anywhere.
Cover: VERY GOOD PLUS
A clean, glossy & unyellowed front panel which displays some light laminate wrinkles around the edges & just a single small thumbnail crease.
The corners have slight bruising but the opening edges clean with no tears or feathering.
The rear panel is clean & white showing just a single small age sport but no dirty fingerprints, writing or missing paper.
All flipbacks, seams & the spine are intact, clean & undamaged.
All discs are carefully play graded in their entirety on a Rega P9 deck with an Ortofon Kontrapunkt 'A' cartridge.
