THE BEATLES - 'WE CAN WORK IT OUT'/'DAY TRIPPER'.  UK, SOLID CENTRE. 'SOLD IN THE UK' TEXT. PARLO & GRAMO LABELS!!! UNIQUE???

This undocumented solid centred copy from c.1969 (the only one featured in Popsike) is the second variant of this 45. The first being solid centres without the 'sold in the UK' text, of which there are a few. The other solid centre WITH the 'Sold in the UK text', is the only docmented one in existence. Seen it in Popsike? This is the same copy which I bought from my favourite eBayer in Austria in 2010 (the one in Popsike), but unfortunately now have to sell.

EMI UK pressed disc with MISSMATCHED black & silver Parlophone labels: R 5389

The 'We Can Work It Out' label has a 1st pressing labels bearing a 'Parlophone Co. Ltd..' rim, however, the 'Day Tripper' has a later 'The Gramophone Co. Ltd..' rimmed label.

Both labels carry the 'Sold in the UK..' text but no purchase tax code present in either centre.

The disc's edge is slightly rounded in common with 1969 EMI pressed product.

Matrix numbers: 7XCE 18341-4 & 7XCE 18342-1:

Stamper codes: 12/ARM & 12/AAL

Labels: EX - : A fully intact set but, as you can see, with some small blemishes. Initials are written on each side a few times but in a biro colour that tends to blend in with the matt black of the label, and shows when held up to the light (see pix) . There are only two or three tiny spindle trails around each unworn centre hole.

Vinyl: EX/EX-. Both playing surfaces are clean & bright and retain all of their 'as new' deep-gloss shines. There are two or three light surface marks on the 'We Can Work It Out' side. One bit long, but surface blemish, nothing I would call a scratch anywhere. Some small marks on 'Day Tripper side' too. Closer inspection beneath my powerful halogen desk lamp reveals a small number of harmless wispy paper type hairlines consistent with the few plays this copy has received, but no other significant or major blemishes.
