READ THIS! These records are NOT sold for perfect sound quality. They’re sold for their scarcity and VISUAL grading. They’ve been in storage for a decade, and they WILL play with surface noise that can be addressed with D4 or a VPI cleaning.  I can’t test-play at the minute. Please don’t bid if this is a problem for you.

Beatles VI LP 1968 DEEP RARE Subsidiary of… Modified Original Label!

Collectors are well familiar with the ordinary labels used for the “Subsidiary of…” run.  These labels had smaller print, were printed on the west coast and were widely used by all the pressing plants.  (See compere photo.)

But what few collectors realize is that the earliest labels issued prior to the printing of the well-known labels were actually the original labels with the “Subsidiary of…” text modified at the bottoms of the labels.  These are extremely hard to find for any of the “Subsidiary of…” titles.  So far, I have verified all titles with these modified original labels except for “Revolver” and “Magical Mystery Tour.”  The rest exist if you’re lucky enough to find them.

*The Beatles’ Story and Beatles VI are the hardest ones to find.

Here’s a copy of Beatles VI to either get you started on all the titles, or to bring you one step closer to completing the run.

Vinyl--- VG+/VG+.  Too bad.  This copy has several manufacturer’s marks in the vinyl on both sides.  They’re flat against the vinyl, and none are feelable.  Had it not been for those, this would have been a NM copy.

Plates--- A5/B2.  Machine-stamped triangle with the letters, “IAM” inside it makes this copy pressed by Scranton.

Cover--- Nice VG.  Light to moderate browning on both sides.  Back cover has yellowed around the periphery.  Small ballpoint next to the RIAA number.  Bottom seam has split about 3 inches from the right corner.

Labels--- NM/NM.  NO SPINDLE MARKS.

Capitol Inner Sleeve--- VG.  Generic white inner sleeve with no die-cut hole for the labels to show is present. Small bottom center seam split.  Weirdly yellowed pattern.

A generic inner sleeve will be provided, so as not to damage your original Capitol inner sleeve en route.

RIAA: 16

As these records have been in storage for many years, they will play back with crackling and tics, however; a good moisturizing and cleaning with either D4 Discwasher or a VPI machine always clears them up.  Thanks!)

Note:  All LP’s ship outside of their album covers in order not to damage the covers during shipment.

CAUTION!  There has been a startling increase in bidders canceling their bids.  A word to the wise, I have started blocking any and all bidders who retract their bids regardless of the reason.

Please don’t bid unless you’re willing to honor your amount, okay? Thanks!

(Please note:  Regarding play-testing, my Technics turntable has somehow seized.  The tone arm is stuck in the up position, and I can’t get it to fully return to its cradle.  Is there anyone out there, who can tell me if this is an easy fix?  Thanks!)
