Description

The Beatles - Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band
I am pleased to offer for sale this exceptional example of the Beatles eighth studio album: Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band.
As can be seen outlined below, the record is a true UK first pressing and was one of the first to come of the production line in 1967. Consequently, this is remarkably rare record that is highly sort after - not many 1G copies are ever sold. Here is a rare chance to get yours!
Album Details:
Serial number: PCS 7027
Matrix number: YEX 637 - 1 / YEX 638 - 1
Stamper codes: 1 G / 1 A
Vinyl Weight: 170g
The matrix numbers confirm that this record is a true UK first pressing. The mother & stampers codes are those of the first few hundred/thousand records produced. The result is a clarity in the audio that is extremely difficult to improve upon. Take a listen yourself below!
The vinyl is housed within the fully-laminated Garrod & Lofthouse gatefold sleeve which features a very desirable WIDE SPINE. Unlike many examples of this sleeve, the wide spine is without any creasing or wear.
The album is complete with the original red and white wavy inner sleeve designed by The Fool art collective and the cut-out insert sheet designed by Peter Blake.

Condition:
The condition report provided below is given as a guide only. I include high-quality, comprehensive photographs as well as a complete audio recording in my listings to enable you to make an informed decision on the condition of this record yourself. Please use a desktop PC/laptop and make use of the zoom function to inspect the photographs closely.

Vinyl: EXCELLENT
Labels: MINT -
The labels are bright and clean. Only a handful of very light spindle marks can be seen to both sides.
Visual: EXCELLENT -
The vinyl retains superb deep-gloss playing surfaces. In bright daylight a number of light paper scuffs are visible to the surface of the record. These are generally due to movement in and out of the paper sleeve. Under a strong halogen bulb a number of wispy hairlines can be seen alongside an iridescent rainbow shine. A really strong example.
Sound Quality: EXCELLENT
Please use the eBay internet site to enjoy the audio clips. The eBay app does not support playback.
Side 1:

Side 2:

As can be heard in the recordings, the audio is fantastic. There is great channel separation, clear vocals and a punchy and dynamic bass. Minimal static can be heard during the lead-ins and in between tracks. There is no sign of groove or play wear. A really enjoyable listen.
Sleeve: EXCELLENT
The sleeves looks superb. The laminate to all four sides retains the original glossy lustre and the cover art is bright and vibrant. All eight corners are crisp and sharp. The opening edges, top and bottom edges show only minor wear. The spine is in exceptional condition.
Inner Sleeve: EXCELLENT
The original inner sleeve is in great condition. It is perfectly clean with no tears, writing or seam splits. The cut-out insert is as-new.

Additional Details:
Before the audio test, the vinyl was cleaned first by an Okki Nokki vacuum cleaner (using L'art du Son cleaning solution) and then an Audio Desk ultrasonic cleaner.
After cleaning, the vinyl is housed inside a brand new mobile fidelity anti-static inner sleeve.
The vinyl will be packaged outside of the sleeve, both of which are stored inside an archival quality polypropylene outer sleeve.
The record will be sent via an insured courier in a padded vinyl mailer.

Please see my other listings. I am selling some rarities from my personal collection.
